Breakfast was nice with lots of options. The beds were comfortable. Staff was excellent so nice and friendly! They really made us feel welcomed. Like that there is a workout room (small and quaint). The pool was enjoyable. Location is accommodating to the Riverwalk. I liked the history of the hotel.
Our room was very humid. It had a musky/humid smell everytime upon entry. Once our noses adjusted it didn't bother us. We stayed 5 nights. Because of the humidity of the room our clothes and belongings stayed kind of moist. Hanging up a swimming suit to dry...forget it! Not even our bath towels dried by the next day. I didn't like that we had to pay an extra $10 a day to park our vehicle and felt kind of iffy about having to park it in a lot down the street from the hotel.
Location was exactly what we wanted.
Staff interaction was horrible. Money stolen from our bags, had to switch rooms due to broken shower and ac. Interacted with three different staff members: one robbed us and followed us on the Riverwalk making crude comments, one rolled her eyes at us and dismissed our request and the other couldn't have cared less about what we were trying to tell him - wouldn't check the hall cameras for us nor did he care to take our information at all. Miserable stay all the way around. A full refund is needed at the very least.
Great location, all places we wanted to see are very close. Very good breakfast.
Very tight parking lot. In the morning we went down the stairs from top floor carrying our heavy bags because hotel staff kept the elevator for their needs. I do not recommend taking a room near the lobby, very noisy. We changed our room at night because we could not sleep.
The placing of the hotel was nice. And the history of the hotel was also interesting.
Most of the staff where rude. They charged us twice for our room and we had bed bugs. Iv stayed at motels with a better quality stay than this place.
Location and complimentary breakfast
When we tried to close the curtain it fell off The room smelled like cigarettes and urine The a/c machine was super loud Parking is ridiculous and the extra fee There was a bug on my bed
Breakfast was good..room was clean.
Front desk a little rude..there was 2 people in front desk one on the phone dealing with problem and a customer the other just watching and I was not greeted or asked for help until I asked the one doin nothing to check me in and she said until they solved the problem they had but then decided to help and was nice to me after that. I was also overcharged for my room saying i got upgrade which i didnt and mistakenly charged twice, which then took my credit card to limit and I was not able to use anymore.
Hotel was by Market Square, Riverwalk, Alamo. I stayed on first floor between Breakfast area and pool. Staff was friendly. Pool was small, but perfect since most of the time they had it for themselves.
The smell when u first walk into the room could've been more inviting. Maybe adding a plug in somewhere. It didnt stink, just wasn't so inviting every time u walked in until u turned AC on. Music could've been a little louder by pool area. Pool opened 10-10. Wish it was open earlier and closed later. Maybe 8-12am.
Parking wasn't free. Elevators were not working was on 5tg floor with 3 toddlers. Curtains had bed bugs and roaches
The history of bldg - old county jail. That's it.
Location: While it is only a few blocks from the Riverwalk, there is a huge homeless population that hangs around. Parking: You pay $10 a night parking - yet there are only 10 (TEN) ON SIGHT parking spots. The parking lot across the street is close - however; if that is full, you have to park down the street (sketchy). Staff: Not accommodating and rude. Billing: While we booked through Booked.net and PRE-PAID, the amount quoted on Booked.net was NOT the same amount charged the day of check in. We were charged $100 MORE! In addition, the hotel then charged us (again) a nightly $120 room rate which tied up funds on our debit card until we could get it fixed. AC: No central AC in rooms. Wall mounted AC units that do not cook efficiently during the heat of Texas summers. Housekeeping: only 3 towels for a family of four. Even though we requested daily for more towels, we had to go to desk to get more because they can't leave more than three in the room. LAUNDRY: ONE washer and ONE dryer (that does not work) BREAKFAST: Not big enough to accommodate guests in hotel. Kept running out of food. No where to sit.
I liked Yvonne who worked breakfast, she was awesome.
The ice machine on the 4th floor was not working after the 1st day leaving only 1 ice machine. The carpet in the rooms were filthy. The refrigerator in our room never worked. The pool water looked dirty. There was not enough seating for breakfast. Had to move rooms because the air conditioning would not cool room and then that room would not cool. You could not get clean towels or wash rags until 10:30 at night.
I was charged more than what I had booked the hotel via Booked.net.
Staff was rude and insulting (Mariah). Staff was not knowledgable about third party booking. I was double charged for nights that I never even stayed!! Deputy Manager tried to help correct errors but made it even worse. Came home and found the double charges were not taken off. Sofa bed was like a cardboard mattress and I had to request bedding item by item. Still didn't get any pillows for the sofa bed. Staff says they will do something and then walk away and leave you waiting!! Hello anybody home??? Terrible experience.
Room was very comfortable, but it could have been a little cleaner. Overall it was a decent stay.
Paying for parking that was not worth ten dollars per day
Close to riverwalk and Mexican market. Breakfast was decent and the history of the property is cool.
Had to pay $10 a day for parking just to park a block away. Room was very small and the building is hard to get in and out of if you have quite a bit of luggage. Room smelt like smoke and soap.
Breakfast included. Great front desk staff. Very close to trolley stop and the Via bus ticket center. Overall, clean hotel.
Housekeeping needed improvement in individual room. Further from the riverwalk than we wanted. Not a lot of seating around the pool for relaxation--very small area.
